When using This for large-format prints, it is no longer nec-essary to scan at the output resolution. You need only between 15MB and 25MB of data to capture an image for any size output. For example, you could scan a 4\" x 5\" transparency at 600 dpi to produce a 20MB file, do all your image editing at that scan resolution, then encode the image. Depending on the image, your encoded file will be 5 -10 MB. Now, if you need to output the image at 450MB and 60MB, you can generate both res-olutions from the same encoded file. For smaller print-quality output, such as from a digital camera, you can start with a source file that is smaller - let's say it ranges anywhere from 3.5 - 9MB, encode that to between 1 - 5MB, and then render the image to 20MB or more. Smaller source file sizes can be encoded if desired. This is the ideal tool for getting the most from your digital images. This is easy to use. All you need to do is save your original image file in the .STN file format.
