The group combined traditional choir singing with contemporary gospel, R&B and hip-hop influences, and became known for energetic performances, tight harmonies and youthful soloists. Led and produced in partnership with Kirk Franklin and his Nu Nation collective, the choir brought a modern urban sound to mainstream gospel audiences. Their breakthrough success helped introduce choir-driven contemporary gospel to wider radio and retail markets.

This self-titled release is the group's breakthrough album, produced in collaboration with Kirk Franklin and Fo Yo Soul Productions. The record includes the crossover hit "Stomp" (Remix) featuring Salt, a lively fusion of gospel choir arrangements with hip-hop production. The album showcases a mix of spirited praise numbers, traditional gospel reinterpretations and polished contemporary ballads, underpinned by strong choir arrangements and prominent guest contributions. As a release, it captures the energy of a multi-voice gospel collective while serving as a hallmark of urban contemporary gospel in 1997.

Executive Producers: Claude Lataillade & Vicki Mack Lataillade
Produced by Kirk Franklin / Fo Yo Soul Productions
Co-Produced by Kevin Bond / Bonded Music and Buster & Shavoni / We Fly Music
Manufactured and distributed in the United States by Universal Music & Video Distribution, Inc.
