He draws from jigs, reels, hornpipes and slow airs, shaping melodies so they remain both danceable and expressive. Bramich’s playing balances teachable clarity with musical warmth, making each tune accessible to learners while still satisfying listeners who appreciate subtle melodic detail.

The Irish Concertina is presented as the soundtrack to the tutor book of the same name and features Bramich accompanied sympathetically by Martin Hunt. The recording includes both extract arrangements—designed to isolate and illuminate specific techniques—and full performances that demonstrate how those elements combine in a real musical context. Tracks are sequenced progressively, moving from simpler tunes to more complex pieces, and the production highlights concertina tone, rhythmic drive and ornamentation so students can hear each nuance clearly.

Beyond its immediate pedagogical purpose, this release contributes to the ongoing appreciation and teaching of the concertina within Irish traditional music. It is a practical resource for students, teachers and session players who want model performances to learn from, and it also stands as an enjoyable listening experience for fans of instrumental Irish music. Whether used for study, classroom tuition or simply to enjoy finely played tunes, Bramich’s recordings offer a concise, authoritative guide to concertina style and technique.

Soundtrack for the tutor book of the same name.
