Originating from the late 1990s New York scene, the band earned a reputation for tight grooves, soulful improvisation and a modern take on the organ trio tradition. Their music blends jazz, soul and funk with rock energy and melodic guitar work. The group's chemistry is built on live performance power and instrumental interplay that emphasizes groove and melody.

Doin' Something, released in 2001 on Blue Note Records, captures the band at a creative peak with punchy arrangements and warm organ-led grooves. The album features originals like Doin' Something, Bridge To 'Bama and Cannonball alongside concise covers and tributes such as Joe Sample. Production balances clarity and live energy, highlighting Krasno's guitar lines, Neal Evans' organ textures and Alan Evans' propulsive drumming. Horn arrangements appear on selected tracks, adding depth to the trio's sound and linking classic soul-jazz traditions to contemporary funk.

Personnel: Eric Krasno - guitar; Neal Evans - Hammond B-3 organ, Wurlitzer, piano; Alan Evans - drums.

Produced by Soulive with Bob Brockmann & Yaron Fuchs for Nu Media Productions.

Executive Producer: Eli Wolf.

Horn arrangements on tracks 2 & 6 by Fred Wesley.
© 2001 Capitol Records, Inc.
