Lightweight stabilizer should be used with fine designs, fine fabrics and fine threads; firm stabilizer should be used with more intricate designs and medium to heavy-weight fabrics. Cut-away stabilizer is recommended for dense designs. Multiple layers of light to medium-weight stabilizer can also achieve the desired effect. When using the large hoop with dense designs or designs with intricate details, the use of spray adhesive to stabilize the fabric with the stabi-lizer is recommended. For best results, spray the stabilizer with spray adhe-sive (505) and gently smooth the fabric on the stabilizer being careful not to stretch the fabric. If more than one layer of stabilizer is used, it is recommend-ed they first be fused together with a small amount of spray adhesive. When possible, hoop fabric and stabilizer together. Fabric and stabilizer must be hooped so fabric is smooth but not stretched. For best results and the least amount of fabric shifting, hooping is recommended over any other method. The designs on this card were stitched with a high-quality 40-weight poly-ester embroidery thread. If a different weight of thread is used, the result may vary from the sample designs. Forty-weight embroidery thread is recommend-ed for all intricate designs. Thread must be clipped between color changes for the best results. Machine embroidery needles are recommended for most applications. Metallic or Metafil® needles work well with metallic threads. Use the proper size needle for the type of design and fabric being stitched. Change the needle often to prevent dullness or burrs.

For Bernette and compatible embroidery systems
