The series is designed to highlight classic and underground drum & bass productions, drawing on vocal and instrumental tracks that represent the 1990s UK/US breakbeat and jungle scenes. The compilation featured on this release was mixed by well-known DJ and producer AK1200, who brings a turntablist sensibility and tight mixing style to the collection. Fans of classic drum & bass will recognize the emphasis on rolling basslines, amen breaks and vocal-led ragga and soulful cuts throughout the set.

This particular item is a DJ mix of Sub Base highlights assembled and mixed by AK1200, presented as a continuous listening experience rather than isolated single edits. The mix blends soulful vocal tunes, hardcore-influenced rollers and darker jungle textures, giving a broad overview of the label's output. As a label-curated compilation, it functions both as an introduction to Sub Base USA's catalogue and as a showcase for AK1200's mixing and selection skills. The running order preserves many of the original tracks while flowing together in a club-friendly sequence.

Mixed by AK1200. Label: Sub Base USA.
