Known for their propulsive, guitar-driven sound, the band blended noisy textures with melodic hooks and driving rhythms. Their music often balances dense, layered guitars with tuneful vocal lines, placing them alongside contemporaries in the shoegaze and indie rock movements while maintaining a distinct rock edge. Over the years Swervedriver have been celebrated for energetic performances and a knack for memorable, riff-led songwriting.

This release, the Son Of Mustang Ford EP, captures the band in an early, aggressive phase, showcasing raw production and urgent performances. Recorded at The Greenhouse in London and issued by Creation Records, the EP features tracks that exemplify their signature blend of feedback-laden guitars and forward momentum. Songs like "Son Of Mustang Ford" and "Volcano Trash" highlight both atmosphere and propulsion, while B-sides such as "Kill The Superheroes" and "Juggernaut Rides" add depth to the short collection. The record stands as an important early document of the band’s evolving sound and a key release for fans of early 90s alternative rock.

All songs written and arranged by Swervedriver.
All songs recorded at The Greenhouse, London.
Special thanks to Pat Collier & Jess.
CRESCD 079.
© 1990 Creation Records.
