Over the 1990s they evolved from jangly indie pop into darker, more cinematic territory, combining strong pop melodies with electronic textures and moody production. Their 1998 album Gran Turismo marked a clear stylistic shift toward colder, more atmospheric arrangements and yielded international attention. The band has remained known for its contrast between Persson’s warm vocal tone and the often stark sonic backdrops.

Gran Turismo Overdrive (Remixed by Nâid) is a 1999 release that collects Naïd’s remixes of key tracks from Gran Turismo, presenting extended and reworked versions aimed at the club and electronic listening contexts. Martin Landquist (Naïd) provides downtempo, cinematic remixes that highlight the band’s moody aesthetics while reframing songs like "My Favourite Game" and "Erase/Rewind" as atmospheric, beat-driven pieces. The single showcases a more club- and soundtrack-ready side of the band’s material while retaining Nina Persson’s distinctive vocal tone. Remixes were produced and mixed in Sweden and feature contributions from Magnus Koch and other engineers.

Credits: Music by Svensson.
