Led by Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, with Phife Dawg as a distinctive voice, the group combined thoughtful, introspective lyrics with eclectic, jazz-influenced production. Their sound emphasized warm samples, offbeat rhythms, and melodic interplay that set them apart from many peers and helped shape the direction of 1990s alternative hip-hop. Over the years their production and remix work have been sought after by other artists across the genre.

This release collects classic remixes and productions associated with A Tribe Called Quest, highlighting the group members' work as producers and remixers for a wide variety of acts. The compilation showcases Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad's production fingerprints across tracks by artists such as Nas, Mobb Deep, Eric Benet and others. Fans of the group will find familiar production motifs and remix approaches that reflect the group’s signature blend of jazz, soul and gritty boom-bap. The collection serves both as a tribute to their production legacy and as a document of their influence on hip-hop remixes from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Executive Producer: Cheveche Valentine
Breakaway Records 2007

Tracklist

1
Gangsta Bitch
Apache

2
Get Down (Q-Tip Remix)
Craig Mack featuring Q-Tip

3
Lovely Affair
Shola Ama

4
Give Up The Goods
Mobb Deep featuring Big Noyd

5
Crooklyn
Crooklyn Dodgers (Special Ed, Masta Ace & Buckshot)

6
One Love
Nas featuring Q-Tip

7
Just My Way
Eric Benet

8
Who Planned It?
Tiger featuring Q-Tip

9
Illusions (Q-Tip Remix)
Cypress Hill

10
Temperatures Rising
Mobb Deep

11
The World Is Yours (Q-Tip Remix)
Nas

12
Lamentation
Eric Benet

13
Heavenly Father
Fu-Schnickens

14
On The Road Again (Q-Tip Remix)
The Jungle Brothers featuring Q-Tip

15
We Run Tings
Da Bush Babees

16
Drink Away The Pain
Mobb Deep featuring Q-Tip

17
Why You Follow Me
Eric Benet

For CD Player

https://www.neverdiemedia.com/products/the-classic-remixes-productions-of-a-tribe-called-quest-w-back-artwork
