'Alice Wallace has had her heart broken. You can tell in her music. But she won't break yours.' Southern California-based singer/songwriter Alice Wallace has spent a large part of the last two years on the road, touring through more than 30 U.S. cities in eight states stretching from Oregon to Ohio. So it's no surprise that her new album, "A Thousand Miles From Home," is somewhat of a journey in itself - a journey through her struggles to discover herself, both as an artist and as a human being.
With the 10 tracks on "A Thousand Miles From Home," Wallace delves even deeper into the emotional, storytelling style of songwriting that she demonstrated on her debut album, "Sweet Madness," in 2011. The new songs also show a refinement and maturity that has come with relentlessly touring and performing live since quitting her full-time job in March of 2013. Alice's style has always been heavily influenced by modern folk singers like Patty Griffin and Brandi Carlile, but is also rooted strongly in the iconic voices that have defined folk and country music for decades: Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Linda Rondstadt. The songs Wallace's new album range from soulful blues to twangy country, but all of the songs have Alice's distinct blend of influences across the folk, country and blues spectrums. "A Thousand Miles From Home" was recorded at The Music Box Studios in Tustin by producer Jon O'Brien, whose credits include early recordings of rock/pop band Young the Giant, as well as many of southern California's most successful independent bands: Yellow Red Sparks, Jeramiah Red, Nicole Vaughn and more.
A Thousand Miles from Home picks up right where Sweet Madness left off, at a standoff with heartbreak. The first track of the album, If I knew takes hold right away with Alice Wallace musings on how she got to where she is. It all began after the sleeper success of her first album, which led her to tour around the West coast multiple times, and made her a staple of the O.C. music scene. It s only been two years since Sweet Madness, but these new songs showcase a stronger voice awashed with the experience of her constant touring, locally and afar.

Stated within the auction is what platform the game will work on (ie. Windows, Mac, Linux...) This is a generic statement and specific platform versions (ie. XP, Vista...) will have to be researched by the buyer. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.
Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions.
