The setting is the year 0079 of the Universal Century, where the Earth Federation and its space colonies are involved in an intense and pivotal conflict. The Principality of Zeon, equipped with humanoid combat machines known as mobile suits, has made remarkable advances against the Federation. The Federation's ultimate hope lies with the innovative prototype mobile suit named Gundam.
Fate brings the young civilian Amuro Ray to become the Gundam’s pilot, beginning his exciting journey—not only to support the Federation's success but also to embrace his own personal growth.
It is inspiring to recognize that Yoshiyuki Tomino's groundbreaking mecha series, Mobile Suit Gundam (1979), has become a beloved classic. Following the original episodes, beautifully enhanced versions with additional animation were released as three theatrical films in 1981 and 1982, igniting a passionate enthusiasm that continues to thrive.
Tomino’s creative concept of "mobile suits"—anthropomorphic robots combining elements of an advanced space suit and a one-man spaceship—elevated the mecha genre to new heights.
Set in the year 0079 of the "Universal Century," the first five episodes lay the foundation of the Gundam universe and introduce the key characters. A spirited uprising within the vast orbiting space colonies leads to a dynamic clash between the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation. During a Zeon attack on his home satellite, Side 7, Amuro Ray discovers the cockpit of the Federation’s secret weapon, the Gundam Mobile Suit RX-78. Demonstrating remarkable skill, he pilots the giant robot and embarks on an exciting rivalry with Zeon ace pilot Char Aznable, known as the Red Comet.
The character designs are unique with an American influence, adding a distinct charm to the series. Fans will appreciate experiencing the original series that launched Tomino’s visionary creation and one of anime’s longest-lasting and most cherished franchises. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.
Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured.
