The Catholic Church is one of the oldest and most influential institutions in human history, tracing its origins back to Jesus Christ and the apostles. It serves not only as a religious organization but also as a spiritual family committed to the teaching, worship, and guidance of millions of faithful worldwide.

The Kingdom of God and the True Church

The concept of the Kingdom of God is central to Catholic theology and teaching. It refers to God's sovereign reign over all creation, both in the present world and in the life to come. The Catholic Church teaches that the Kingdom of God was inaugurated through the person and mission of Jesus Christ and is made present in the Church itself, which acts as the visible sign and instrument of God's rule on earth.

The True Church is understood in Catholic tradition as the one founded by Christ, with St. Peter as its earthly head. This Church possesses the fullness of divine truth and grace and has been preserved through apostolic succession. According to Catholic belief, it is the true path to salvation and eternal life in communion with God.

The Seven Parables of the Kingdom

Jesus used parables — simple, vivid stories — to reveal profound spiritual truths about the Kingdom of God. Among these, seven parables stand out for their comprehensive depiction of the Kingdom’s nature, growth, and final fulfillment. Some of these parables include:

The Parable of the Mustard Seed – illustrating how the Kingdom begins small but grows immensely.

The Parable of the Leaven – showing how God's kingdom permeates the world subtly yet powerfully.

The Parable of the Treasure Hidden in a Field – stressing the immeasurable value of the Kingdom and the call to sacrifice everything to obtain it.

The Parable of the Sower – reflecting on the different receptions of God’s word among people.

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares – teaching about patience and the ultimate judgment.

The Parable of the Net – describing the final gathering of the righteous and the separation from the wicked.

The Parable of the Great Feast – emphasizing God's invitation to all to participate in the Kingdom.

Isaiah 61 - Luke 4:16-21

The prophecy of Isaiah 61 is a seminal Old Testament passage foretelling the coming of the Messiah and the establishment of God's reign. It speaks of liberation for the oppressed, healing for the broken-hearted, and freedom for captives. In the Gospel of Luke 4:16-21, Jesus reads this very passage in the synagogue and declares, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing," confirming His messianic mission and the inauguration of the Kingdom of God.

This passage is fundamental in understanding Jesus’ role as the Anointed One who brings salvation, justice, and restoration—a mission that the Catholic Church continues to carry forward through its teachings, ministries, and sacraments.

The Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church

The Church administers seven sacraments, which are visible signs instituted by Christ to confer grace. These sacraments build up the spiritual life of the faithful and strengthen their bond with God and the Church community:

Baptism – the sacrament of initiation that cleanses original sin and initiates a person into the Church.

Confirmation – the strengthening of grace received at Baptism through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Eucharist – the reception of Christ's Body and Blood in Holy Communion, the source and summit of Christian life.

Penance (Confession/Reconciliation) – the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God and the Church.

Anointing of the Sick – grace given to the seriously ill or dying for healing and strength.

Holy Orders – the sacrament through which men are ordained as deacons, priests, or bishops.

Matrimony – the covenantal union of a man and woman blessed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church.

The Necessity of Baptism

Baptism holds a privileged place among the sacraments. It is the gateway to the Christian life and is considered necessary for salvation according to Catholic teaching. Baptism frees the person from original sin, infuses sanctifying grace, and incorporates the individual into the Body of Christ, the Church.

The ritual typically involves water and the Trinitarian formula: "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." The universality and necessity of baptism reflect the Church's mission to bring all people into communion with God.

Sacramental Salvation

The Catholic Church teaches that salvation is a process involving both faith and grace, with the sacraments serving as the ordinary means by which grace is dispensed to believers. Sacramental salvation emphasizes that while God's mercy and grace are freely given, they are usually mediated through the Church's sacramental life.

This does not exclude God's ability to save outside of the visible Church but underscores the importance of the sacraments as instituted by Christ for the spiritual nourishment and growth of the faithful.

The Concept of Grace

Grace is a foundational concept in Catholic theology, understood as a freely given, unearned favor from God. It is the divine life dwelling in the soul that enables a person to live in communion with God, overcome sin, and grow in holiness.

There are different types of grace:

Sanctifying grace – a stable and supernatural disposition that perfects the soul to live with God.

Actual grace – God's interventions to inspire and strengthen the will toward the good.

Sacramental grace – grace specific to each sacrament to achieve its particular spiritual purpose.

Charisms – special gifts given by the Holy Spirit for the good of the Church and the world.

Grace transforms human nature, elevating it toward divine life, empowering believers to fulfill God's will and participate in the divine nature through faith and works.

If more than just the media is included, it will state which items are (ie. box, manual, etc ). Items that come in a sleeve refer to a generic CD sleeve (typically white) and will be sent with shipping protection to avoid damage during transit. If available, we will also send the front and/or back CD inserts if in stock. If these are important to you, please message us to verify we have them available to send. Please do not assume items are included other than what's stated. Again, ask questions PRIOR to purchasing if you have any concerns.

IMAGES:

All images/pictures are stock photos and are for reference only, mainly to show the type of game you will be getting. Please read "WHAT YOU GET" for what is included with the media. Screenshots may vary based on your own computer system, video card, monitor, etc.

COMPATIBILITY:

Computers are like people, each one is different. Unlike console games, a computer game may install and work flawlessly on one system but may need adjustments on another. This is due to a variety of factors, mainly the OS platform running, video card you have, drivers, protection software installed, etc. Many times manufacturers release updates to games to fix bugs and add enhancements. We would be happy to help get the game going on your computer, but ultimately compatibility issues are the responsibility of the buyer. We suggest going to Google and searching for the name of the game along with the words "system requirements" to determine if your system is suitable. Ultimately, we are not responsible for software compatibility problems or publisher's errors.

PLATFORM:

Stated within the auction is what platform the game will work on (ie. Windows, Mac, Linux...) This is a generic statement and specific platform versions (ie. XP, Vista...) will have to be researched by the buyer. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.

64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.

Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions.

MEDIA FORMAT:

Please verify you have the required hardware in order to use the specified media (ie. CD, DVD, floppy drives, etc.) If the item comes as a floppy disc, make sure you have either the needed 3.5" floppy drive or the bigger and older 5.25" floppy drive.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A SMOOTH PURCHASE:

  • Ask questions PRIOR to purchasing an order to avoid any confusion.
  • Be patient if there are problems during installation or gameplay. Typically someone else has already ran into that problem and has listed a solution online. Contact us and we will do our best to help.
  • Be sure to update your video card drivers and search for updates to the game from the manufacturer.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
